Not quite ready for summer? We’re here to keep you in the loop with the hottest make-up trends for Spring into Summer. Whether you’re a beauty guru or bit of a newbie to the make-up scene, it’s time to get that make-up on point for the seasons ahead.
Highlight and Strobe your way to glowy skin
Yes, we’ve chatted about highlighting a fair few times but who wouldn’t want to sculpt their way to a better version of themselves right? From faking that summer glow in winter to accentuating your natural beauty during the summer months, highlighter will soon become your best friend and guaranteed make-up bag essential.
Although highlighting tends to be paired with contouring, if you’re looking for more of a minimalist, natural glow (or only have a few minutes in the morning), you may opt for a simple highlight on it’s own. If you’re more of shimmer fan, you may want to get in on the strobing action. Differing slightly from highlighting, strobing creates the illusion your skin has been contoured whilst bringing your key features forward to leave a glowy, dewy finish.
Whether it’s highlighting or strobing we recommend brushing the product it down the bridge of your nose, top of your cheekbones, your cupid’s bow, under your brow and in the inner corners of your eyes to really brighten your face.
The ‘Wow Brow’
2016 is officially the year of the brows so there’s no better time than the present to up your brow game and get those arches on fleek. From boyish brow sprouts (which create a youthful appearance) to statement, Megan Fox-esque brows (hello the perfect arch), it’s down to you to find the perfect brow shape for you.
Don’t be fooled, not everyone should match their brows to their hair colour. If you’re at the blonde / fair end of the hair spectrum, you should opt for a brow shade which is one or two shades darker than your hair colour. Similarly if you have darker shades, ideally you would go for one or two shades lighter to ensure your brows look most natural.

Embrace those freckles (faux or otherwise)
With more emphasis on the natural, sun-kissed glow recently, we have seen freckles hit the runway at a variety of fashion shows recently. With the growing popularity, we expect this to carry on into the summer months. Glitter Takeover
Despite what you might think, glitter isn’t only reserved for those winter party looks we know and love. This year we expect to see glitter make it’s summer debut and help instantly add that little bit of something extra to a minimal makeup look. Think nude pink, golden, yellow and white based glitter shades to complete your look.
Of course throughout this summer we expect to see the stilletto nail trend continuing, as well as a rise in natural, clean skincare products, twisty ponytails and everyone looking to find that perfect nude lip – have you found yours?
