Mid Year Bathroom Interior Trends
Every season we are given the opportunity to look at our homes in a whole new light (literally)! Since the beginning of the year we have shared our love for rounded accessories, mounted mirrors, trough style sinks, the white on white trend and keeping our bathrooms light and bright and as we’re fast approaching the height of summer we thought it was about time we gave our take on the trends we expect to be a hit throughout the summer and beyond.
We know it’s not possible to completely change the look of your bathroom every three months when the seasons change but to give your home a fresh look, you can take certain elements of the hottest trends to give your bathroom an on trend, mini makeover. Here are some of the trends we think will be splashing into your bathroom this summer.
Bathroom Living
Our bathrooms are no longer a place we go just to have a shower or a soak in the bath – they are becoming more open and versatile spaces and this year’s trend of bathroom living hasn’t come as a huge shock to us. Yes, we hear you, having a bathroom which is more like a living room may seem a little farfetched however the popularity of this is growing around the world. By introducing homely items such as sofas, plush chairs, fresh flowers and fireplaces will soon turn your bathroom into an inner sanctuary you won’t want to leave.
Scandinavian Style
Also set to hit our bathrooms this summer was the tropical trend but as this isn’t suitable all year round, we thought we’d opt for Scandinavian style. If you opt for the Scandinavian style like us, you can rest easy that you won’t have to change your bathroom when we get into the winter months. Complete with standalone baths, simple walls, light and bright with no clutter, a Scandinavian bathroom is everyone’s dream sanctuary. With neutral tones perfect for summer, some rustic, brass and rose gold accessories can really bring your bathroom up to Scandinavian winter standard when we approach the winter months.
Open Vanity Units
Definitely not one for the messy guys and gals amongst us, nor the tidy ones who love to store everything away clutter free, but open vanity units are definitely a hot trend this summer. Taking pride of place in those picture-perfect bathroom snaps we’ve all seen, open vanity units are perfect if you want to store towels or baskets however maybe not the most welcome addition to your bathroom if you have a multitude of hair and beauty products you want to keep stored away.
