Meet makeup artist Neala Olivia
This week we were lucky enough to speak to super-talented makeup artist Neala Olivia. After telling us about her fabulous beauty room, we just had to check out her blog and see how a real makeup artist tackles eyes, lips and cheeks!
For those of us who can barely create a sexy eyeliner flick without it smudging, Neala’s blog comes complete with handy tutorials and a full list of products used to create the look. We were impressed, and while it will probably take a whole lot of practice (and around 3 packs of makeup wipes) before we get anywhere near Neala’s standard, we’re going to have a real good go!
Neala has kindly allowed us to share some of her gorgeous shots right here on the blog. Bonus points to whoever spots the Hollywood mirror!
Blue and red made seriously high fashion. Dewy skin and a natural eye make this vibrant & daring colour combination less Coco the Clown and more Coco Chanel. Neala created this look in honour of July 4th and you can see the tricks, tools and tips over on her blog.
We love this spectacular colour combination, Neala states it’s her favourite and we have to agree – this is the type of shot that comes straight from a Rimmel London promo. With bare skin and a nude lip, Neala shows how great skin and a perfect brow can help you look instantly groomed – with or without full eye makeup.
A little more subtle, this beautiful teal eye uses a yellower shadow to open up the eye.
Neala uses this vibrant lime shade around the waterline (some makeup artist speak we’ve picked up!) to create an ethereal effect. We love the feathered eyebrows too. Complementing the look with a peachy blush and coral lip shows that you can be creative with your colour combinations without clashing. Play around and see what looks good on you – modern, fun make up is all about transcending rules.
We’re thinking that this pretty pink makeup room was inspired by old Hollywood glamour, check out the iconic shots and the pink gloss Hollywood mirror – the perfect tools for creating an inspirational dressing room.
All of the amazing creations you’ve seen can be found on both Neala Olivia’s blog and on her dedicated YouTube channel. Check out her amazing tutorials and say hello on Twitter @NealaOlivia.
Of course, the pink gloss Hollywood mirror can be purchased from us – with free next day delivery (and Saturday delivery) as standard!
We’d like to say a big thank you to Neala for sharing her pictures with us – we’re well and truly getting our glam on this weekend! If you’ve been inspired by the tutorials, please send in your own makeup creations using #IlluminatedMirrors #Neala Olivia – go on, make us jealous!
