Add a touch of nature to your home this Season.
Spring is officially here, suddenly days sitting amongst nature and basking in the sun are regular occurrences, not long lost distant dreams. With that said, it’s always a great idea to bring some of Spring into your home, bringing it to life and providing some much needed colour and freshness. Let the fresh colours inspire!
Floral overload
We will once again refer back to our hero – Miranda Priestly for her most more heroic comment ‘Florals in Spring; groundbreaking’. We know, we know; it’s seemingly obvious, yet so many people are still to bring some natural decor into their homes. Seasonal blooms are so uplifting and bring a smile to everyone’s face, from Tulips to Daffodils, this season provides some of the best blooms we see all year round. You don’t just have to pop them in any old vase either, there are plenty of ways to display flowers in your home. From old bottles, terracotta pots and decorative glasses to floating in water, flowers are a sure fire way to bring a sweet sunny scent into your home.
Bedding
A distinctive change of seasons is when you update your bedding to reflect the weather. Darker shades which bring warmth to your bedroom, paired with fairy lights to add a cosy glow are the dream interiors for your bedroom in the winter, but coming into the warmer months, you need to pull out your summer duvet and let your room breathe. Buying new, bright and colourful bedding can work wonders on your room, alongside potentially updating your curtains to a lighter fabric or shade, meaning your windows will be more open to outside light. Floral patterns, seaside influenced and general white fresh bedding will leave you feeling fresh and comfortable throughout the months to come.
Seaside influence
If you’re lucky enough to live by the sea or to visit, then be sure to collect some of it’s fantastic natural decorations. Shells, driftwood and bottled sand can be incredible additions to your living room. Add a bowl of shells to compliment a blue undertone in your room to bring a fresh, sea inspired feel. Think beach houses in the USA and you’ve got the perfect idea of what a few ocean found ornaments can do to uplift your space.
Garden/Balcony updates
There is nothing better than sitting outside on a warm summer’s evening, whether this be on a balcony or in a garden, it’s one of life’s simple pleasures. Open your doors that lead onto your outside space to bring a fluidity of nature from your garden into your house. Evening decoration can be just as spectacular as the great colours in day; opt for ground citronella candles to keep the bugs at bay, whilst adding lanterns and outdoor fairy lights to your space to really bring it to life. The smells on a Spring/Summer evening are so beautiful it would be a crime not to take them all in as much as you can.
With these tips, you can turn your home into a wondrous summer haven for you to enjoy all season long, accompany with great food and company; you’re set for a fantastic Spring/Summer!
