Clean your bathroom in 5 quick steps

As many of us strive to make the most of the last summer days of the year before August gives way to the increasingly cold September nights, the last thing any of us want is to be stuck inside cleaning the bathroom. On the other hand, knowing there’s a chore that needs to be done and having it play on your mind can be just as frustrating as spending a day stuck inside tackling said chore.

As a happy medium, we’ve developed a quick routine that will enable you to give your bathroom a once over without it taking hours. That way, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that your bathroom is stain and smell free whilst still enjoying the last few weekends of the summer holidays with your family. Then, once everything’s back to normal and you’re stuck inside on a rainy winter Sunday, you can go and give the bathroom the thorough scrub it needs.

So, don those rubber gloves and open the window to get some fresh air circulating. Turn up the radio – or better yet, tune in with one of our audio Bluetooth bathroom mirrors – and get the job done so that you can go and enjoy the rest of the day. It will only take 15 minutes!

Step 1:
Use the toilet brush to scrub the inside of the toilet bowl, then pour toilet cleaner around the top of bowl, leaving it to work while you do the rest of the cleaning.
Lift the lid and wipe the rim of the toilet bowl and the underneath of the seat.
Taking a fresh wipe, do the top of the toilet seat and then the underneath of the lid.
Flush the loo to rinse away the toilet cleaner and then close the lid. Toilet done!

Step 2:
Wipe down the sink bowl and taps with a disinfectant wipe to get rid of any streaks and those inevitable toothpaste splashes, then use paper towels to wipe them over again and create a nice shine.

Step 3:
Spray the mirror with glass cleaner and use paper towels to wipe it over for a streak free finish.
If you have glass doors for your shower, give them a spray with the glass cleaner too and wipe down with your sponge.

Step 4:
Have a sort out of your products and bottles, and bin any that are empty or that you don’t use.
Wipe down the remaining surfaces and get rid of all the used wipes.
Empty the bin and give the outside of it a quick wipe over.

Step 5:
Remove any damp towels and replace them with fresh ones, doing the same with bath mats that might benefit from a wash.

And you’re done!
Finally, light your scented candle and leave it in a safe place to burn for a while. For bathrooms we suggest a fresh, simple fragrance like Yankee Candle’s Fluffy Towels or Lemon Lavender.

Your bathroom will now feel spruced up and fresh, and smell lovely too. You’ll be glad you took a few minutes to blitz it, and later down the line it won’t take as long to give it that thorough scrub!
