5 weird and wonderful bathroom gadgets

As much as we love a nice bathroom, it can get a bit boring, can’t it?

The same neutral tones. The same pristine fixtures. The same tiling.

Sometimes, we just want something different. Something that makes a bathroom stand out, something that makes guests take a step back and think ‘what on EARTH is that?!’

So, for this blog post, we’ve gone out and found 5 of the weirdest bathroom gadgets around. You’re welcome.

Talking toilet paper holder

Yep, you read that correctly. A talking toilet paper holder.

Fortunately, it doesn’t really talk – it just plays back voice recordings. Cue plenty of ‘hilarious’ toilet-based wisecracks every time your guests’ reach for the loo roll.

This technology does actually have a useful function, however, as it has been adapted to help with potty training. Even the weirdest of ideas can make the world a better (or at least easier and less messy) place!

RSS toilet paper printer

The days of the toilet book are numbered. First, the smartphone came along and offered a world of information at your fingertips while you do your business. And now, to really hammer the final nail in the coffin of books, comes the RSS toilet paper printer.

Made and exclusively sold in Taiwan, this gadget prints off a blog post from your RSS feed for you to read. Once you’re done, you can then use the printed page to…well, you know.

Alright, so it’s not exactly the most important of innovations and it might encourage overuse of toilet paper, but it’s still pretty cool. Sort of…

Bath crayons

It’s generally accepted that humans grow out of their ‘drawing on every wall in sight’ stage at about 4 years old. Or is that just what they want you to think? What if deep in your psyche lays the dormant instinct to run crayons over absolutely every surface in the world?

It’s a question the inventors behind Bath Crayons have clearly considered, as they’ve decided to invent crayons you can draw on your bath with.

They’re probably for kids, but there’s nothing to stop you buying a set to sketch out your latest artistic masterpiece or write up this month’s work figures while you soak.

Motion-activated toilet light

Stumbling around in the dead of night, desperately looking for the loo is not a fun experience. One minute you’re carefully tip-toeing towards where you think the loo is, the next you’re letting out a blood-curdling scream after stubbing all of your toes at once.

This motion-activated toilet light makes such experiences a thing of the past. When it detects you shuffling about in a midnight haze, this handy gadget lights up and provides you with safe passage towards your lav. It even stays lit up afterwards to guide you back to the safety of your bed. Thanks, motion-activated toilet light!

Social shower curtain

Novelty shower curtains are as common as teenage girls at a One Direction concert, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some gems out there. We’re particular fans of this social shower curtain, which is decorated to look like a Facebook profile. There’s even a little space for your face!

But wait, what’s this on the curtain itself? Bathroom-related jokes! Superb! That’s our next post sorted!
